Kikujiro Fukushima, documenting ‘Japan’s Lies’ for 6 decades. He has photographed social upheavals, including anti-nuclear protests. Fukushima devoted his long career to documenting individuals fighting social injustice. He refused to accept a state pension because doing so, he thought, would contradict the work that he had been doing with his camera.
