Megachurches are large churches that have congregations of more than 2,000 people. They can almost be economies unto themselves, with large campuses that include gyms, bookstores, daycare centers, coffee shops and other amenities. They are growing in popularity, particularly in the southern and western parts of the United States. Pastors who work at these churches can expect a salary that is higher than that of their peers who are pastoring smaller congregations.
